Previous administrations would be scrambling to explain or do damage control if POTUS would have told a couple of lies on the same day that could be easily verified. The Trump administration, however, has another word for that:
Tuesday.
This "leader" can not open his mouth without lies spewing forth. First, he says the leader of the Boy Scouts called him to tell him what a "great" speech he made, which BSA has said neither of their top two officials did.
Then he says the Mexican president called to praise him for his immigration policies, which the Mexican government has denied.
Two simple statements and he can't help himself. He has to lie. He is a pathological liar who must have spent his previous 70 years telling one lie after the next. But in private business, no employee is going to call him on it, or they'll be fired. The press is not there to hold him accountable and no one cares all that much what some Yankee born with a silver spoon in his mouth says when he's just a reality TV shill..
But now that he's president, everyone has become aware the guy literally can't string two sentences together without a lie spewing forth. People lie in politics -- I get it -- but Trump has taken this so far and above what there has been previous (Nixon, perhaps, an exception) that really it's just comedic fodder now. You can't believe a word he says so most just smile and shake their head.
