TRump once again has shown little regard for basic knowledge or facts when trying to appeal to his base. His latest was a comical statement that the Coast Guard had to play a major role in rescuing many of the 16,000 needing evacutations in Harvey. THe reason he gave was that many had gone out in boats to watch the storm come in. For a man who actually visited Texas after the storm, it showed either no common sense or his ability to rant on about a subject without his message based on any resemblance of fact. When the storm hit Rockport there were a couple of important rescues by the Coast Guard. And this is in no way any effort on my part to disparage the guard. Anyone on the coast knows they do an awesome job. But probably 99% of rescues were from areas hit by the rain which exceeded 50 inches in spots. The people he saw in videos were in many cases individuals who took it upon themselves to get out and help people. To insinuate that we had thousands of people out in small boats to witness the storm is just amazing in it's stupidity. Nothing like watching a hurricane in a john boat. LOL
