Is there anything stranger than Trump's relationship with the military. On the one hand, he has increased funding and praises them whenever possible. But when it comes to personal action, he is less than congenial. He claimed deferments for bone spurs despite playing on the basketball team and said his main concern during war years was avoided sexual diseases.
1. He degrades McCain despite his role as a soldier and POW
2. He goes against wishes of top military officers and unilaterally declares transgenders unfit.
3. Sets up policies to kick out members of the military who were promised citizenship for military service.
4. He uses the military as a political ploy on the border then when the election ends he says "never mind"
5. He insults Gold Star families.
6. He becomes one of the only heads of state to miss a ceremony at our own cemetery because of the rain?
7. He's waited longer than almost any president to visit troops in a hostile zone.
8. He avoids honoring veterans at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Veterans Day while sitting and tweeting across the street in the White House with no meetings scheduled. Should've claimed he had bone spurs.
9. He slams McRaven for being too slow for killing Bin Laden when it wasn't him that was getting the intel needed to get him. BTW. How are we doing on those top ISIS guys?
10. Unilaterally makes a decision for a star wars branch of the service. LOL
11. Often implies that he knows more than his top military officers.
12. When Republicans in Florida have a slight edge he demands the counting of absentee ballots be stopped which includes the military.
13. He hires an idiot then fires the head for the Veterans Dept.
Yet heaven forbid someone take a knee at a game because he's a son of a bitch for disrespecting our men in service.
What's sad is that many of these are strictly to make himself look good at the expense of honoring men in service or veterans. Then doesn't know the words to the anthem himself. LOL
If you would've ever said a president would do half of these things before Trump, people would've said you were crazy.
