I had forgot his name but he pitched against the Rangers yesterday for the Marlins. The commentator brought up the fact he was a Texas Tech commit. He went number 13 in the 1st round and never played for Tech. I did remember him when I saw his home town of Carlsbad NM. I remember we had a commit from a. guy from Carlsbad but everyone thought he would go too high and take the money. On of the announcers for the Ranger also committed to Tech but was taken in the 18th round by Cleveland and also did not play for Tech. He pointed out the the difference in draft status. Mike Basick did play in the majors but I did not remember him committing to Tech of playing in the majors.
