Tech’s schedules have gotten tougher since we went to the 9 game conference schedule format in 2012. Above are my top 3 toughest schedules.
This year’s non con schedule will probably be the only time we played 2/3 ranked non con teams, and it’s one of just a few times we played a road P5 team.
IMO, this will be the toughest non con schedule we’ve played in a long time, which could lead to it being the toughest schedule overall in quite a while. I guess that will depend on how the Big 12 shakes out.
Since we’ve gone to the new schedule format of 3 non con / 9 conference games, it appears that the only time we’ve made a bowl game is when we’ve swept the non con part (usually against a crappy schedule).
I have a feeling if Shough isn’t our guy, we’ll find that out pretty early next fall.
