Below is the top 10 list from preseason, how would you rerank the top 10 after 3 games? Who moves up? Who falls out altogether? I can't find tackle numbers for defense that seem accurate, I used https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/schools/texas-tech/2017.html
1) Keke Coutee - Jr. - 28 rec, 446 yards, 15.9 Y/C, 4 TDs
2) Jordyn Brooks - So. - 1 INT, multiple pass deflections, Stud
3) Dakota Allen - RS Jr. - Week 3 Big XII DPOW, 1 INT, Stud
4) Jah'shawn Johnson - RS Jr. - 1 FF on first play of the season, is a big reason we haven't given many long TDs this season
5) Dylan Cantrell - RS Sr. - 14 rec, 229 yards, 16.4 Y/C, 2 TDs, 1 Rushing TD
6) Nic Shimonek - RS Sr. - 73.6%, 1,248 yards, 11 TDs, 1 INT, 10.0 Y/A
7) Cameron Batson - Sr. - 19 rec, 164 yards, 8.6 Y/C, 1 TD
8) Broderick Washington - RS So. - He's played a huge role in our improved run D, quite a tandem with Big Mych.
9) Douglas Coleman - So. - 1 FR, solid in coverage, positional versatility at NB and S.
10) Travis Bruffy - So. - Missed first 2 games, slow start against UH but played admirably considering his health circumstances.
Overall I feel this list did a pretty good job, a few names that I think were missing:
Paul Stawarz - RS Jr. - Just for improvement over Tony Morales and how that's boosted the offense.
Mych Thomas - Sr. - Has probably been better than Broderick this season which is saying a lot. He has a FR and a sack on the season as well as a dropped pick 6 which would have been the highlight of the season
Willie Sykes - RS So. - Pick Six, good tackling in space, possibly had a better start to the season than Coleman who is very good.
Tony Jones - Jr. - 1 sack, 2 FR, 1 INT, best playmaker on the defense besides maybe Jah'Shawn, has more opportunities due to being closer to LOS.
Eli Howard - 1.5 sacks, 1 FF, great in Run D.
My current rankings:
1) Keke
2) Brooks
3) Dakota Allen
4) Jah'Shawn
5) Shimonek
6) Cantrell
7) Mych Thomas
8) Tony Jones
9) Broderick Washington
10) Paul Stawarz
