Not one to usually start threads, but after watching this game tonight I just need to vent. Kliff is just overmatched as a head coach. Defense is happening under his watch and the offense has essentially peaked. We're a 6/7 win (+/- 2) team with him as our captain. He doesn't have answers and clearly being better than everyone on one side of the ball isn't the answer. We are consistently undisciplined and consistently outcoached. At some point, that can't keep being pinned in failed assistants.
We know our offense is great, but we also know that our great offense can't score every drive and that mediocre teams give us all we can handle more times than not. I don't know what the answer is, but I'm tired of paying someone that has no experience other than what we've seen to field teams that perform like this. We're the laughing stock of the P5 right now because of our defense. Yes it was bad before he got here, but it's only gotten worse under his watch. That's unacceptable. If he's not in the hot seat after performances like this, then we are giving up on our football program. I actually feel bad for Gibbs. I'm convinced that taking a defensive coordinator job at Texas Tech is career suicide.
To the "he needs more time" crowd, our offense can't get much better and our defense can't get much worse.. what else is time going to do? Why does someone paid like this deserve more time when he has shown no urgency to get better at 50% of his job?
