That's the message that you need to give to this team following this game.
This game was not us.
If we were the type of team that turn's it over 4 times, commits 16 penalties, and misses on countless routine plays then it would have already been a problem in the previous 4 games like last year when turnovers and penalties were a problem from game one all the way to the end.
No this one blindsided all of us. It had just as much to do with a lack of mental sharpness as it did anything else.
We have to completely forget this game, Pretend like it never happened. And continue on as the type of team that averages 4 penalties a game and wins the turnover battle each game,
I am usually one of the most positive posters on here I think. But to all of you who are saying we should win out prepare yourselves. Because with a defense this bad the only gimme wins are going to be iowa state and Kansas. It's the law of football. Great offenses can keep you in games, but if your defense is this bad, then the other team as long as they have a decent enough offense will be in it as well.
WE have to get back to getting turnovers and stealing possessions. Because no offense, not even tcu and Baylor can do what we are asking our offense to do. And that is to play perfect football.
That being said osu, Kansas state, and texas are the keys to the season for us. WE have to win these games and will be extremely disappointed if we drop one of these.
for me ou and west Virginia would be bonus.
Can't wait to finish a season strong and with some momentum to carry into recruiting for once.
