For those that weren't there, there was a noisy contingent of WT fans at the USA, complete with orchestrated chants and just generally trying to make themselves as obnoxious as possible. In particular, there was a group of mostly guys wearing "Maroon Platoon" t-shirts sitting behind the north basket. Tech fans seemed to mostly ignore them.
About 3 minutes before the end of the game, Gerald Myers made his way over to them and had a conversation with them. It wasn't confrontational or anything, just Gerald talking to them in a pretty amiable fashion. I don't know if any of those guys had a clue who he was, but I thought it was interesting. If I had to guess, I'd say he was complimenting them on their spirit and telling them he wished our student body had a group like them.. but that's just me speculating. Otherwise, here are my thoughts on the game last night.

- Thoroughly unimpressed with the intensity and effort by our guys tonight. I realize it's exhibition game #2, but you'd think these guys were tired of just practicing against each other and would be ready to play against someone else.
- EXTREMELY unimpressed with our ability to get the ball inside to our post players, despite having a significant size advantage. This was an issue last year, and doesn't appear to have changed.
- Unimpressed with the PG play in general. Thomas played a lot fewer minutes than I expected. Kid is definitely quick, but I still don't think we have a guard that can penetrate and dish on any sort of consistent basis.
- Odiase looked better physically. Losing the weight is going to help him a lot, I think.
- Keep hoping Zach will become more of a scoring threat, but I just don't think that's going to happen. He's just too passive on the offensive end.
- Gotcher was on fire from 3 pt range. Hope that stays consistent through the season.
- Jackson and Williamson definitely have potential. And the two of them seem to have developed a nice chemistry together already. They probably won't get many minutes in Big 12 games but I like the potential there.
- I'm beginning to think Justin Gray is one of those guys that will just frustrate us with teasing glimpses of his potential without ever becoming the player we all hope/think he can become.
- Better crowd than I expected tonight. Of course maybe that's due to the number of WT fans in attendance.
