So far, what I see is basically the same thing we saw last year.

Our kicker is worse, we don’t have Tyree and we miss Sarodorick.

Our OL doesn’t appear dramatically better. Maybe slightly…a year older, but not substantially more talented.

The drops from the WR group have been killer.

Tharp isn’t getting enough touches.

Shough doesn’t process the game at a fast enough speed. Once the first read is out, I’m holding my breath for a sack almost every time. If this were a team that needed a game manager, he’d be fine, but our deficit of playmakers makes me think we need more of a gunslinger like Morton.

The defense was good enough for us to win. Our DBs held their own, and the front 7 did a great job containing Nix and limiting the run game. Lots of respect for the scheming by DeRuyter.

I actually thought our team speed was adequate on defense. Lots of teams will look slow against Oregon, but I thought we made several impressive plays out on the edge.

Overall, we’re roughly the same team as last year. The difference is we played @Wyoming rather than at home vs UH. @NC State vs home against Oregon is a wash.
