Ok. I've got to rant.

I've been spammed by stay at home mom's facebook pages with this new ad.

Sure, discipline your sons for bad behavior, I have zero issue with that premise. They are boys, they are young, and fathers have a big responsibility to make sure these boys grow into young men who understand good and evil, and the boundaries that must be respected. But the underlying message in America today is that being a boy is automatically bad. That is obscenely incorrect. Both sexes have extremely important roles and responsibilities in our homes, families, and society.

Just as much as social justice warriors want to scream from mountain tops that women are strong, unique, equal, and important members of our society(which is all very true), why are there not more messages that men are just as unique, just as important, and just as deserving of equality as women? Instead, we have corporations putting out spot commercials essentially saying that boys cannot be boys. They are children, they are going to make mistakes, making it seem like they need to be the pinnacle of morality from day one is irresponsible. Go back to trying to market your razor with 17 blades in it.

Boys can be boys. Men can be masculine. Preaching to our kids that this isn't the truth is wrong. Being a boy should not be synonymous with being bad.

Implying that dads just shrug when their sons rape, assault, and bully is absolutely and undeniably absurd. Saying that "some men" act right is patronizing at best. Insinuating that the #MeToo movement suddenly made men nationwide slap themselves and say, "Wait, raping women isn't ok?! Man I never knew that." is incredibly ridiculous.

And we wonder why people can't decide if they want to be a boy or girl these days.
