IMHO, a great watch of an under appreciated 2013 film starring Colin Firth, Nicole Kidman, and Skellen Skarsgård.
The movie is based on the true life story of a British soldier who is captured by the Japanese and placed in a concentration camp in Burma in WW2. After being discovered with a radio receiver several soldiers built in the camp, he tells the Japanese he is solely responsible. This leads to months of the most brutal torture at the hands of the secret Japanese police.
Years later he discovers a certain someone is still alive
What’s makes this all more compelling is that it’s all based on a true story
It’s now available on Netflix.
