I give you Donald Trump. The democratic party is destroyed after obama and is still digging to the bottom, the GOP is split into several camps and in the middle is the Trump. A pragmatist. The left is coalescing around socialism and the GOP is split between continuing to grow government and supply siders.
Trump is not making any inroads to those who hate him and his coalition is not in congress but the working class in formally Blue States.
If Trump can't pull a victory out with Health Care or Tax reform we could fall back into Chaos although the Democrats have lost so many seats it is unlikely they will make enough gains to regain power. Which leaves us with the status quo and stagnation.
