The Red Raiders did not have any entries in the multi-events (decathlon or heptathlon), so I have waited a bit to open this thread. Tech did have a limited number of entries last evening, with only one really positive result:
J.W. Smith ran really well in a fast heat of the 400 hurdles prelims to make it into the finals on Friday night - his time of 51.49 was less than a half-second off his PR. Darien Tennon did not fare as well, struggling to run a 53.99 - 1.5 seconds off his PF and a second behind his time last weekKyle Padalecki finished well back in the pack in the "B" pole vault, BUT he did clear a height at 16-0.75 and that means that he has cleared a height in his first 2 outdoor meets - he had trouble clearing heights indoors this yearKole Weldon threw 175-8 in the hammer and missed the finals. If he would have thrown what he threw last week (a 194-5) he would have just slipped into the finals with the 9th and final spot
Tech is much busier today as the Texas Relays kicks into higher gear building up to the Saturday afternoon finale.
