I'm not trying to be overly sunshiny but this has quietly turned into a pretty good building block back to respectability in the major sports after several years of bleakness.
In football we aren't where we need to be or should be, but coming off the disaster that was 2014 we made a decent sized step in the right direction, beating a couple of decent opponents and getting the offense back to our standards. The record would look better if we had gotten A&M instead of LSU in the bowl, but at least there was a bowl this year.
In basketball we were Tournament team which no one saw coming.
And baseball we're sitting at 10-1 in conference and poised for the first conference crown since the early days of the Big 12.
It seems like we truly are headed in the right direction for the first time in years, and all three sports have reason for optimism. If we stay on the same trajectory the next couple of years could be a lot of fun. It feels kinda good.
