Talk to me about VR headsets

For those of you who have one or purchased one for kids, my 10-year-old has a birthday and Christmas coming up. He has a PS5.

Did some research on best one to get for value - obviously the Apple one is a big fat no. Saw Meta - that’s its own thing I believe. Anything recommended for a PS5?
