Just got out of a convo with Tim Tadlock this afternoon. Here is everything that was of note.

Recapping the last week on the road:

"Again, I think it's really cool we got the opportunity to go on the road for a week. I think the guys grew quite a bit through the week. Obviously, each day kind of presents a different challenge within a baseball game and presents different opportunities and some of those opportunities. Obviously, at the end of the day, we didn't capitalize on some of them and without going all into it, offensive defense, all that stuff. We're gonna keep trying to make the effort to put ourself in position do what we want to do."

On frustration of losing close games:

"Probably not the way you look at it when you're in the middle of it. It's frustrating not to play good baseball, and when you don't play good baseball, you're gonna get beat in those type settings against good teams. And in hindsight, when you get home when you look at it, and you go, man, like hey, you can always say you're in a baseball game or baseball game, start out 0-0. And we're gonna pitch pretty good. We're gonna play pretty good defense. And so, you should be in some games, right? And, you know, again to me, I think there's a lot to learn from those games. You look back and go, Hey, like if you play good baseball at certain times, you got a chance to set yourself up, you know, to be in position to win the game late. I understand the question because I guess it was three one run games, right? And so, you can look at it and say 'Hey, you had the lead in games,' that's baseball, you're gonna have a lead sometimes, sometimes you're gonna be behind, and the key in a baseball game is that is asks you to do certain things through the game. More than anything, it asks you to be present inning to inning and pitch to pitch, that's a challenge."

On West Virginia:

"I would say better than decent. They have a really good team. Coach Mazey has done a good job for a long time. If you didn't know he's retiring at the end of the year, or getting out, stepping aside, whatever you want to call it. They probably got one of the better hitters we'll see. You know, obviously coming in, he's dealing with a hamstring issue. I think they've pitched it pretty good. They've played good. Again, I think they kind of have duplicated what they had last year on Saturday, with an older guy pitching. I hadn't really got into looking at it as far as that stuff. I know Major was there last year as a bullpen arm, he'll throw game one. They've always done a good job with again like playing the game the right way."

On Erdman's last two outings:

"I mean, I thought he was right there in Fayetteville. Thought he threw the ball good back when we were here, seems like a long time ago, right. I thought he was right there in Fayetteville. You know, to be able to get through there. I've said it once already. I mean, in hindsight, you'd like to just say hey, man, got a 7-1 lead. You know, go pitch and figure it out. Thought he was efficient. Obviously we got some opportunities play defense behind him, and did that for the most part when he was in there."

On weather:

"They should get here today. You pretty much have three days to get it in. The majority of the rain here looks like it's gonna be on Saturday. And so there's a real possibility of playing one Friday and then looking at Saturday and seeing what you can get done on Saturday and then obviously, can't get it done, you're talking about two on Sunday."

On Rotation:

"The same."

On Bravo:

"Well, really, I mean, he's been dealing with something and he's managed it pretty good. And it probably snuck up on us and Fort Worth, probably on Friday. I don't take anything away from the guy that threw for them on Friday. Had a really tough night Friday and you're kind of going into Saturday. We're trying to decide what the right thing to do was and he dove early in that game. And you could tell it was bothering him. And so pretty much asked him and he made a really mature decision, like, 'Hey, like, you know, probably not as good as the guy we got over here.' He's kind of day to day, kind of a day to day deal. And again, he's been dealing with it for some time. And you know, you go back to two weeks ago, he's really good with it. And so it's just kind of like I said, it's gonna be a day to day a day thing."

On Petty, Fast & Parish:

"So the status would be as Petty will not pitch, he is out. I think Taber is starting to throw like as in build up, play, catch type deal. Parish, I think he was six weeks away last week."

Could Parish be back for the Big 12 tournament:

"At best for Parish, It seemed like it was right before it, maybe getting him on the mound type deal. What also comes with that, is have they done everything every single day? You know, like six weeks is pretty aggressive I guess what I'm saying."

Have you felt your pitching has been compromised?:

"You kind of did feel like you were holding on to a couple guys over the last couple of days. The last few days you felt like 'hey man, like we need to kind of wait till we have the lead late to go to that guy instead of just going to guys. And so there's been a little bit of that. I mean, if you'd have told us yesterday, we're gonna hold them to five runs, and they're gonna throw the back end, you know, they threw their better arms on Tuesday. If you said, 'Hey, we're gonna give up five yesterday,' I would've told you we'd of won the game. I felt really good about it. But that's baseball too. I mean, sometimes they just don't fall and sometimes you don't play good. Sometimes you give them outs when you don't need to give them outs or don't take advantage of opportunities defensively. There's any number of ways to look at all that stuff. So it's always simple things in a game right that cost you a one run game, that's frustrating."
