Let's do this thing. Grambling State is tonight's sacrificial lamb and this one could get ugly. If the Raiders continue to feed the ball to guys who are scoring, Williams could have a 30 point night - though it also would not be surprising to see an even more frequent rotation from Adams because really these games are for figuring out what's best for Tech.

Grambling State has a ton of transfers as well, I guess a lot of schools do now in this new era. They have a few guys from Texas too. It's too early to know much about Grambling State, though last season they mostly played with 8 guys as the main rotation and that's pretty normal. They lost a ton of seniors from last season but do return their leading scorer Cameron Christon and have remained old - they play a lot of upperclassmen. Worth noting that they do have a nice looking big redshirt freshman, Malik Lamin, who is 6'11 and 235 pounds.

In their first game they played 7 guys mostly, the two primary bench guys got a lot of minutes too. They don't live and die by the three pointer, which I kind of admire. If we see them taking a lot of threes then I'm thinking Tech is forcing them to shoot from outside. Danya Kingsby, one of their key guys, had a poor shooting night to start the season and I wonder if they will go to him early to see if they can get him rolling.

This will probably, hopefully, be a common refrain this season - they may not have an answer for Williams. The redshirt freshman big man is likely to get some education around the basket tonight from Williams. In their first game, the Tigers forward, Taylor, did play on the perimeter a lot on offense. Will be interesting to see if he gets matched up with Obanor on defense. Prince Moss, their first guy off the bench, is a 6'7 guard and a good shooter and will come in shooting. He's a surprisingly sub-standard passer and can be turned over (same for Christon), and plays a lot of defense with his hands. Coawart is another guard, he's a pass-first guy who sets them up quite a bit.

Mostly the Tigers want to drive on offense, and they don't tend to stand outside and shoot a lot of jumpers (with Kingsby and Tra'Michael Morton being notable exceptions).

This should be a different looking team from the North Florida live-by-the-jumper-die-by-the-jumper attack. I'm always excited to see Tech play against many different styles of basketball.
