I'm no fan of the President. That goes without saying. However, he is the President and deserves respect. What Colbert did crossed the line. It disrespected the office. There's a way to poke fun at the President. Unfortunately, that wasn't it, and was way over the top.
I routinely refer to Trump as President Big Hands. It's funny to me, and is a play on his own talk about his hands. More importantly, it's not a personal insult. Colbert needs to find the balance I believe I found.
I didn't like when Republicans disrespected Obama, and I won't like it when liberals go over the top in their disrespect of Trump. Of course, Colbert doesn't care what I think, or any singular person. However, if enough people take umbrage, he will be forced to show respect.
