After complaining for 10 years about this team did you really think it would magically be a Big12 champion/playoff team in year two? Yes, Joey talked the team up but what is the head coach supposed to do? And yes, Shough/Linton/Cole/Bradley were not what they were supposed to be and that sucks... but we are playing right now with an 18 yr old who unfortunately the moment is too big for. I hear y'all saying its no excuse and comparing him to other freshman but come on guys there is a reason true freshman don't start for almost any team in the country. IT'S BECAUSE THEY AREN'T READY. Are there exceptions, sure, but to compare him to a couple of top 100 prospects (TCU and KSTATE) is asinine. Yes this season is a wash and we may or may not make a bowl game. But for all of you saying Joey ain't it, or he needs to be fired, or we got Kingsbury'd... miss me with that crap. If you can't see what is coming in the next couple of years you are blind.
The true freshmen on Defense are absolute studs. Ben Roberts is a stud. Coy Eakin is on his way to being darn good. Morton when he does not have a hurt throwing shoulder is pretty darn good. Not to mention we have the best recruiting class in years (including 2 of the highest rated recruits in program history) showing up on campus in December. Everything is going the right way. Everyone B*****d about Wells not building through high school and blah blah blah. Well its happening guys, you got what you asked for. But it doesn't happen overnight, you have to be patient and wait for the kids to get here and grow up. When they do, it'll be worth it.
