I thought I would hit up my brethren of RRS as they are the foremost experts in just about any subject under the sun. Got a cold call from a guy working at Gulf Coast Western oil looking for investment partners for an oil play in Weld County Colorado. I have nothing to do with oil in my business and thought it strange that I am on some data base somewhere and I am getting a cold call for an oil investment. Typically oil guys looking for money call oil guys with money to invest, not random guys like me. Doing a little more research I find that the owner has done a few other things like try to duck out on paying Caesars Palace just under $190K in markers and has been in a few other business ventures.
I have family in the oil business and there is plenty of activity in the area. There are some negative reviews posted about the company taking peoples money and end up drilling a dry hole or did not get the money back they were told, etc.
My gut says to steer clear along the category of "too good to be true". What say the brethren of the revered Double T.
