My son and his family. I have known his wife since she was 15 and they were in HS. She is a lawyer now and one of her friends from Baylor who is also a lawyer and lives in San Francisco was here visiting. To describe her a "liberal" is an understatement. I got to visit with her a good bit about San Francisco (where it is so expensive that she can't afford an apartment (has to share with friends) and hear to pontificate about "oppressed people" The "evils" of business .....I think she has ...well the intelligence of an average vegetable. She is all "feelings" and is as clueless about how the world works as your average vegetable. How do law schools graduate these people? Her knowledge of the world is on the level of a carrot. How is this happening to us?
I really don't know how to talk to these types. They are beyond clueless and believe "profit" is evil and that the black community is not at fault for their plight. (I agreed with her on this point and said "well obviously liberals are the problem" ) but that went right over her head. She was as brain dead as a corpse. "What kind of law do you practice?" I could not understand as she went on about some mumbo jumbo about "looking into inequality in the workplace" and "working with corporations to "better the environment" I did not understand if "environment" was the climate or "having a healthy place to work" I got confused....
I am really discouraged about our youth...I asked my daughter in law..."What the hell?" and she said she would not discuss anything outside of "life at Baylor" I laughed and said "Oh boy" "you don't tell me girls have fun there?"
