Situation: flying into/out of ATX for my best friend’s (high school RB), baby shower. My wife is 8 months pregnant, I was able to grease the wheels and get her first class on the way back today. But, not on the flight there. There is one available seat in first. For the flight to ATX.
Issue: We are on the waiting list for first class for our roughly 10AM flight.
Question: Has anyone had success bribing gate agents w/ cash to secure a first class seat while on the upgrade waiting list? Flying American. Surely they accept Greenbacks? Or am I Fortune 500 cockblocked? Not sure if the old ways work anymore.
