Nothing earth-shattering here, but I really enjoyed this article by Bruce Feldman. Obviously, talent is talent and rankings typically reflect that, but this s illustrates how important it is to have guys on the staff with keen eyes for talent to compliment the needed ability to reel in high ranked players. In addition to that, having coaches that are willing to fight for a recruit with his HC or rest of staff when they see something special. Reminded me again of McVay and Welker. This also reminded me how difficult QB evaluation and recruiting is when you think of the success of Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson, Mayfield (unfortunately) and even Manziel and RG3 in college, and how all were pretty overlooked as QB recruits.
