DMN writer Tim Cowlishaw writes the Cowboys should probably gamble on Baylor's Bryce Petty, if he is still available with their late 3rd round pick. NFL Draft Scout website rates him a round 2 to 3 pick. I think it might be time to take the risk. Brandon Weeden looked horrible when given a shot last year, Romo's back is one big hit away from putting him out for a long time, and the only other backup is former West Texas State QB Dustin Vaughan who looked decent in last year's preseason. I think Petty may be worth a shot if available then, even though we know they need a lot more on defense and a RB.
