Field Scovall was an Aggie I think and was Mr Cotton Bowl. John came to Tech and went to Austin and ran for 209 yards and beat the Horns in Austin. When the plane from Austin came back it could not land, 10,000 folks on Ramp. It went to Amarillo and returned later that night. Johns 3 sons all played for Tech as the Wes Welker position.
Field was very successful in Insurance I think and the sons went back to Dallas. Now one is a Doctor and I think practiced in Lubbock as orthopedic doctor. Very smart and High Class Raiders. Perhaps one of top 20 in all Tech history. Very successful people who love Tech.
