Oh-Ma and I headed out to LBK Saturday morning. Beautiful drive via 114/82. Wind began picking up around Seymour and as you all are aware it blew like crazy until late Saturday night. Nice lunch at Dirks (it was so full we had to eat at the bar) and we headed over to the Cotton Court hotel. I really want to like the Cotton Court hotel but their parking is really F'd up. The courtyard there is really nice after the game we took in the DoubleT973 Postgame show while having a few adult beverages.
I don't know how many folks came to the game on Saturday. If you were there I saw you. We went back to our season ticket seats and there was plenty of room in section 103. The game was hard to watch in the first half but the second half was really fun. We were listening to Level/Jensen/Harris so the barrage of injuries and such were top of mind. I didn't have much background on the kicker but you could tell that he had a good boot watching him warmup. The Schooler hit, the slide, and the Gariby's winning kick sure made the dusty air tolerable. All of the angst smuggling in the 10 little bottles of Fireball went for naught. Not a single RRS'r stopped by for the free shots. There was a Tech family sitting behind us that were really fun. The parents had not been to a game in years and were there with their Tech freshman son. I remember those days.
Looking at RRS when I got back to the hotel I wondered if we had won or not. Even the postgame show was a bit more negative than I expected. We had fun and you all that are staying home missed out on a great game. I saw the WVU game too so I haven't experienced a loss out at Tech this year. Joy is where you look for it and we found joy this weekend in LBK. Get back there folks and you will realize that while winning a football game is a big part of the weekend experience there are so many more elements in the weekend trip back to Lubbock.
