I'm looking to take up the maddening sport of golf this fall. Any tips or tricks for getting started?
I played some in college and got almost respectable one summer (I shot in the low 80's a couple times), but at some point I quit going and got sucky again. I even took golf at Tech for a credit, but that was over a decade ago and I don't remember anything. I've played maybe 4 rounds since then (none in the last 7-ish years) and didn't even bother to finish the last 2 because it was so bad and I was holding people up.
I'm not looking to be a scratch golfer at this point, but I'd like to be able to have a little fun and get back into the 80's. Advice or resources would be appreciated, because if I just get out there and start hacking I'm afraid I'll be too impatient and frustrated to stick with it.
