Let's pretend we are filling 30 spots this year, so who are the 6 players you want to fill out this class? Keeping in mind a certain measure of realism here. For a bonus question, if you could get any 2 of the players we were recruiting last year, who would be the two and why? Here's my picks for both;
This year:
1. Marcell Southall- Love his versatility and upside. High motor player that fits in very well with this D line group.
2. Ross Blacklock- Man mountain that can help Joe Wallace form an NT tandem that could dominate.
3. Lil' Jordan Humphrey- A huge and intriguing prospect that could develop into a Jace Amaro type threat. Better runner too.
4. Levi Onwuzurike- High upside, developing player with a high motor and from a school we want to pipeline.
5. Marvin Terry- Extremely productive player that could help the LB unit in desperate need of new talent. Potential heir to Pete Robertson.
6. DeMarkus Acy- Out of this group, I know the least about, but we need some more safety help and if Texas and OU (among others) want him, that's good enough for me.
Last year:
1. Tyron Johnson- Star power from Louisiana that could have really opened the pipeline there and been a game changer here.
2. JoJo Wicker- An extremely productive and versatile player that could have really helped solidify the transition on the defensive line.
2A. Kris Boyd- Is looking like the lockdown corner everyone thought he would be in only his freshman year. As Level put it last year, "BOSS"!
