AD I know we have season threads for both the Rangers and the Astros, so delete this if you wish. However, I believe that this topic deserves it's own thread. Both the Rangers and Astros fans get to enjoy meaningful baseball in September, and to make it even more fun, against each other.
I've been rooting for the Rangers for 43 years, and this makes maybe the 15th time that we were still even in the hunt after Labor Day. Lots of tough seasons to wallow through. I couldn't quote the commensurate stats for the Astros, but you guys have had a lot of lean years are the WS against the White Sox so I'm sure you are absolutely loving this too.
SO, I'm hoping for a thread where we can jump on here, cheer on our respective teams, talk a little smack (but keep it civil). If you're a baseball fan like I am then surely we can appreciate that the fans on the other side of the diamond love their team just as much. Let's enjoy this time and appreciate it for what it is. Personally I hope that both teams make the playoffs. I also expect both teams to be good for several seasons moving forward.
To me, the Astros look a little tight. They are ridiculously young, most haven't been here before, and don't have seasoned vets (other than Kazmir?). Several pitchers will go well past their highest previous total inning counts. But I'm not counting you guys out because you have talent and you have starting pitching. But on the other side the Rangers are loose, having fun, and luckily have a bunch of guys that have been here before.
Tonights game is probably the most important of the series. Rangers win and the Astros leave in 2nd place. If the Astros win they have a chance to reclaim momentum.
