Regarding UT and OU’s success in the SEC i this coming season.
If one or both former Big 12 teams perform well, will their performance put a brighter light on the Big 12 in the minds of the college sports world?
UT has a softer schedule than OU, and the “consensus” seems to indicate the horns will be in the top two in the SEC at season’s end, and that OU has a tougher schedule and will finish between 6th and 9th.
As a longtime Tech fan I hate to see either team doing well. I also suspect that most of the sports world will NOT see the Big 12 in a brighter light regardless of either of these teams success, but maybe I have suffered from the “Tech Fan Syndrome” which states Texas Tech will never get the benefit of the doubt in any circumstance.
But an Ok St fan tried to convince me that any successes either of these teams enjoy in the SEC this season will cast the Big 12 as a tougher conference than most of the country thinks.
What say you?
