I had an old friend post a message on facebook that her kids wanted her to take them to the Colorado State Capital to protest. She was all gung-ho about this.

I was about to respond to her, but then I hit the pause button because we all know you can't win an argument against a lefty lib.

Perhaps I'm old school, but I find it appalling and quite disturbing that someone would subject their kids to protests. If you want to protest, that's perfectly fine. But I think one has to have a deep understanding of what they are protesting. I don't think a child has a clear understanding of what is going in on our world right now. With the violence that's been happening around the State Capital over the past 7 days...... I can't believe someone would want their kids to see that. I've seen photos of the Colorado State Capital and the Denver County Court House. It looks like a war zone! I have a 5 and 4 year old....two boys. I'm not going to allow them to protest until they've had a job and have learned how to support themselves. I want them to know the feeling of paying taxes, paying rent, paying for a car payment, insurance, buying their own groceries and cooking their own food. Once they've done that, they can protest whenever and for whatever cause they want. I know there will be some on here that will totally disagree with me. That's perfectly fine. Lets just keep it civil:).
