Ran a few numbers because in my head I thought we were generally poor on 1st and 2nd down during the game. Below are stats by down. I did not include stats where a penalty resulted in "NO PLAY."
1st Down:
Total Plays - 47
Total Yds - 276
Avg Yds - 5.9
Median - 3.0
2nd Down:
Total Plays - 35
Total Yds - 246
Avg Yds - 7.0
Median - 1.0
3rd Down:
Total Plays - 24
Total Yds - 323
Avg Yds - 13.5
Median - 10.5
Holy smokes on so many levels. Obviously 3rd down production is off the charts. But we managed 3 yards or less on half of our 1st and 2nd down plays. That's no bueno.
