TTU doesn't have the balls to:
A.) fire Wells after two years
B.) fire Wells and hire Art Briles in his place
They do however have the balls to fire Yost, replace him with Art Briles, and wait and see what Wells does next year. If anything, TTU will be giving Briles an audition to show he belongs and get the fans behind him, in case Wells continues inevitably down this path of underachieving.
The timing of Briles resignation/Yost firing is too coincidental.
If it works out one way or another, Hocutt saves face without admitting that he was a moron for hiring Wells in the first place.
