C.J. Baskerville received 41% of the vote which was plenty to avoid a run-off for the 7th position on our list. In what is probably a testament to the transfer portal era, Baskerville is the 4th player in the top 7 to arrive via transfer and Baskerville is the 4th senior on the list as well. Football seems to be following our Chris Beard basketball model of staying old.
Running List:
Tier 1
1) Tahj Brooks - RB - Super Senior
Tier 2
2) Josh Kelly - WR - Super Senior
3) Jacob Rodriguez - LB - RS Junior
4) Ben Roberts - LB - RS Soph
5) Behren Morton - QB - RS Junior
6) Bralyn Lux - CB - Super Senior
7) C.J. Baskerville - S - Senior
Something else that stuck out to me is that Baskerville is a senior while being class of '21, which means that he doesn't have any COVID eligibility and it seems those days are finally leaving us. He is redshirt eligible if some sort of injury happened however, since he never took one at San Diego St.
Based on the voting last round, the vote for 8th is going to be a two horse race between Jalin Conyers and Isaac Smith with Micah Hudson being a bit of a dark horse. A.J. McCarty is making his first appearance as a candidate to be voted on, I chose him because of age and experience over a couple of younger options like Maurion Horn, and whoever starts out of Jordan/Chapman/Lewis. Let's vote and see what the will of the people is!
