A friend of ours got her 2002 Tahoe stolen in front of Mexican Suger in Irving, tx on LBJ and Denton Tap which is a Restaurant Row type area with Whiskey Cake and many other Restaurants at 5:30 PM last week. The officer told her the man who did it would probably not be arrested due to fear of lawsuits. Said they steal automobiles just to transfer drugs and she would probably not want the vehicle back due to the smell of fentynal in the car and other damages the druggies may do. Said they would probably find the car but not arrest the guy due to fear of a lawsuit. If I read deeper into this it may be the George Floyd syndrome which I feel fentynal was a factor in his death. I would also be afraid to arrest a guy high on fentynal because any use of force and you could be accused of murder even if the guy overdosed. Anyone know any more about police being afraid to arrest people due to a fear of lawsuits?
