TJ Shannon and Kyler Edwards:
- Both happy to just make the tournament after the past year.
- Kyler saying he'll tell the young guys to take it all in and enjoy but go there with the mindset to win it all.
- Terrence saying he doesn't know too much about Utah State but they're obviously good enough to be in the tourney and they're well coached.
Marcus Santos Silva and Kevin McCullar
- MSS saying it's a dream come true.
- Kevin saying he's glad he's on this team after all of the setbacks he's faced before.
- MSS saying his first time at the tourney was incredible. He's excited to get back to smell the roses but they'll need to lock in when needed. They're ready to make this business trip.
Micah Peavy and Mac McClung
- Micah saying he'll focus in on this tourney knowing this team is ready to compete.
- Mac saying he saw some games from Utah State on TV and once again said they're well coached.
Chris Beard
- Beard saying he keeps thinking about Holyfield, Clarke, Davide, etc. to miss out on last year's tournament. For this team, they were in the top 25 all year. They're on their "fourth straight" NCAA tournament and these guys made their own journey.
- Beard saying all the emotions go through his mind quick. He never thinks of himself first. He recognizes the staff, their wives, the players, etc.
- They're all tough games, Beard says. You have to come and play. He has a lot of respect for Utah State and coach Craig Smith, who was close when Matt Mooney transferred in being South Dakota's coach at the time. They'll be disciplined. Beard will dig into Utah State starting tonight.
- They have another week to improve. By Friday, they'll be ready to compete with Utah State. Beard has high expectations and confidence in his team.
- One constant in the postseason is you "got to be the best version of yourself." They can't let the stage keep them from being themselves. He thinks they have a good chance at a run.
- Beard explaining to smell the roses. They'll enjoy every moment of the tournament. When it's time to lock in they will. They need to live where their feet are. The goal is to have more fun in the tourney than anyone else. They don't care what anyone else thinks.
- They're rely on Kyler and Avery but they have experienced guys on the roster.
- Now, they wait for a phone call to see when they head to Indy, where they're staying and all of that good stuff. What we do know is Utah State on Friday.
