Taking the family there next month for a week-14 year old son/10 year old daughter.

First time going and would appreciate any insight/advice any of you could offer. Staying at the Gran Porto, which I understand is within walking distance to the center of town.

-Recommended restaurants in town?
-Local attractions?
-Shops/stores to visit for the wife and kids?
-Safety concerns anywhere?
