Help me out here. Republicans, especially Rudy Giuliani, keep saying the President testifying before Mueller would be a "perjury trap." Correct me if I am wrong and don't understand perjury. Don't you have to lie in order to commit perjury? So they are basically saying they know the President will lie.
They are not arguing to testify would be unfair, or isn't needed. They are arguing it is a perjury trap." Can't have perjury without a lie. Tell the truth if there is nothing to hide. Am I right?
