I live in Forney and go to all of the home games . I was very impressed with this kid last year but couldn't find much on him, recruiting wise. At one point last year I asked someone close to the Skipper family what his situation was and the story I was told explained why he wasn't on anyone's radar.
Luke's father passed away when he (Luke) was 12 and he's been raised since by his mother, who hasn't remarried. He's a smart kid, makes good grades, but he's real low key. So he's never been to any camps and doesn't really have anyone in his corner pushing to get him noticed. The kid doesn't even have a Rivals profile.
Anyway, he's off to an awesome season, so far. In 5 games, with limited playing time, he currently leads all QBs in the DFW metroplex with 24 total TDs (17 passing with 1 INT / 7 rushing). There isn't much film on him, but he reminds me a lot of Mahomes, both in size and style of play.
Stats:
75 completions on 112 attempts, for 1,141yds & 17 tds (1 int)
70 carries for 669yds & 7 tds
Here's his bio page from Max Preps: Luke Skipper.
How do I get Kliff to take a look at this kid?
