Well, I have to give them credit for allowing it to go to a city wide vote. That's the only way to handle it since it affects every citizen.

The proposal still includes a armed law enforcement division but it just changes the reporting structure. They are going to create a politburo....er... Council that will have authority over the new public safety department essentially taking power away from the Mayor and current city council. The new department will be headed by a non-law enforcement official... basically a bureaucrat.

Just more bureaucracy really. Still going to have a police force. But, again, at least the whole city gets to vote on it.
