Crazy story about StubHub taking back tickets a guy bought for Kobe Bryant's final home game. The guy bought tickets before Kobe announced his retirement. Ticket prices skyrocketed after Kobe made his announcement. Stubhub let the seller cancel the order so they could resale them at a higher price.
”The Seller let us know that these tickets were listed incorrectly. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to provide the tickets you ordered, and your order has been cancelled. Comparable tickets were not available. Your original tickets were listed below market value at $195.89, and other similar tickets are listed for well over $1,490.00”
StubHub later reached out and offered the guy a set of four tickets to the game, only to be topped by Tickets For Less, who offered the Lakers fan a set of tickets in even better seats.
