Looking for some advise on sealing exterior travertine. Have sealed it the last two years with DuPont Heavy Duty Exterior Stone Sealer, which is now going for around $100 per gallon. My problem is it looks great for about two months, then the sheen look goes away and shortly thereafter water will penetrate it and freezes will pop the tile up and deteriorate the tile where water penetrates. All tile that is under our deck looks great all year long and the Dupont sealer works great. It is the tile that is exposed to the sun and elements that is the problem. Grout is also cracking which allows water to penetrate and then freezes will pop it up also.
Any suggestions on a sealer that will be more effective and last longer. The Dupont is a solvent based sealer with silicone which seems to simply evaporate.
