All,
I am asking for my Tech sisters and brothers to say a little prayer for a great man that passed today. My stepfather. My biological father left us when I was young and my stepfather cared for our family since I was 11. He took us to Europe to live when I was 12. An experience I appreciated more as an adult.
He was a generous, funny and caring man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He grew up as a child in Austria. He had three siblings. He was a Vietnam vet. He was always good for a hilarious story involving his past during family gatherings. One of his stories included mistakenly peeing on a soon to be very angry monk's pepper garden while he was in the mountains of Vietnam during the war. He is the only one that can tell that story with the true literary justice it deserves though.
He had an electric personality that friends, family, coworkers and even strangers would gravitate to when he was around them. The pain is gone and I am sure he is enjoying a pot of steamers with our heavenly Father. Rest in peace Paul.
Your son, Jim
