My wife and I are in the middle of purchasing our first home here in Houston.
Just a really quick question, we were under the impression that we were done with personal payments until the closing date on May 1st. We already paid the earnest money, the inspection, and waiting period fee for 10 days of inspections and negotiations, etc.
I just got an email saying that our HOA company requires $600 bucks just for them to provide a "Statement of Account".
Can we go back and ask the sellers to pay for the HOA to be switched to us?
Just a completely unforeseen expense that nobody told us about until about 6 minutes ago. That seems steep for someone to essentially send paperwork over.
I know it's probably a stupid question, but we're saving for down payment and closing costs, $600 is still a good amount of dough.
