OT: computer question

I have an old Sony DVD/surround sound system that I don't use any longer, would it be compatible to plug into my office computer? Needing some speakers for the work computer and figured this would be an easy fix.
The Sony player has a HDMI plug and I have a small EliteDesk HP CPU that only has USB plug ins.
