So last month my daughter got hit by a van, that also hit the truck behind her. We filed a claim with the van’s insurance and despite what the police report shows, they are saying it was the trucks fault. That they pulled out, hit the van, and caused the van to crash into my daughter. They deny the claim and tell me to file with the truck’s insurance, which of course they say “oh hell no it’s the vans fault.”
while they figure this out I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. My daughter’s car is driveable, but they will total it when they assess the damage. And of course the $$ we’d get wouldn’t be enough to get her a similar car.
So I can file a claim with my insurance, get the $$, then figure out what to do and let them fight the other insurance companies for the $$. Risking of course rates going up etc.
Or I can badger the other two insurances, but after speaking with they subjugation person yesterday I have zero faith they will get anything done. And there I don’t think my daughter’s car would pass inspection so we only have until next year before we are SOL.
anyone been through something similar? This is a first for me. Been in more wrecks than I would like, but always the other driver’s fault with no argument from insurance company.
