I'm sure there are quite a few of you on this board who parent in one. Any of you happen to marry a woman who happens to have primary custody of a son? If you've been in this position, how did you handle authority even though the kid is only your step-kid. Mine is now 15 and years of soft mothering is now rearing it's ugly head. It's complicated because you are not the parent, but at the same time, this kid is living under your roof and you have to make sure they behave and are disciplined like you do your own kids who live under the same roof.
