OT: Balmorhea State Park

Anyone traveled to Balmorhea State Park and have any suggestions? I've been through the Big Bend area but didn't visit Balmorhea and I'm thinking of taking a little two day trip out there and check out the swimming pool. What else is there to do? Has anyone stayed there at the San Solomon Springs Courts? Also, I've got a 2 1/2 year old daughter so anyone that has traveled there with kids I'll take all the suggestions you've got.

I saw Fort Davis isn't too far and I've been to the McDonald Observatory there so may hit that up for a star party.
