One thing I haven't seen discussed as much as I would've thought is the play of Paul Stawarz. (And apologies if it's already been covered in other threads, I just didn't see much, if any, discussion.) I'll be interested to see his PFF grade, and I am not optimistic.
He had several high snaps today, two of which directly contributed to 16 points for ISU via Bowman's pick six and his safety (EDIT - as @carnley09 rightly pointed out below, I was mis-remembering on the safety, that wasn't a bad snap, just a bungled play-action exchange - my bad!). I can't say I recall him having snap issues like that in any other game... Most of the chatter I've seen has centered more on Bowman's play, but Stawarz deserves to shoulder a huge chunk of the blame for those two plays, which were the difference between winning and losing. It also seemed like he had a tough time in pass pro. You simply have to have more out of your 5th year senior center.
He has been a solid, steady cog for us over the past few years and seems like a great kid, but today was not his day. Hopefully he gets it ironed out and back on track before OU/UT come to town, because if he doesn't, we will have a rough go of it. (Edit - Even though a bad snap didn't contribute to the safety, I still think PS has to improve his snap accuracy and blocking if we want to beat OU or UT.)
